2018 LCI/Facelift Minis
Discussion
Is there any more news on this? The most recent information I can find is a piece on Motoring File from January:

Thinking about a JCW to replace my M135i, a recent move means I no longer need to put in the miles.

The cars are running round pretty much undisguised now.
Good news is they don't look all that different. Minor bumper tweaks front and rear, new headlights at the front (which were on the GP concept), and the UJ tail lights, which will be an option - can't imagine they'll go down well in all markets!
Makes it clear that the big news will be in the tech....
Thanks, interesting pics. What size wheels is that 'Ring test car running?Good news is they don't look all that different. They are 17" track spokes....SS7

I imagine that the 15/16" wheels with non run flats is the sweet spot in terms of ride/handling.

Apparently it's not quite that soon, March 2018 the LCI will be delivered - I'm surprised.
Although, some bits are filtering through already - new MINIs being delivered now have the new fuel gauge.
Any more news on the March 2018 cars?? I'm still debating a MCS/JCW fwd hot hatchback, vs another (bigger, heavier, faster, more expensive, rwd) M-Lite....Although, some bits are filtering through already - new MINIs being delivered now have the new fuel gauge.

It looks like 2018 will continue the rollout of new features in the hatch line, rather than a step change on a particular date.
To quote http://www.motoringfile.com/2017/11/26/mini-2019-m...
"If you’re looking at a F55 (four door), F56 (hatch) or F57 (convertible) we’d recommend waiting for March production if you can. These changes aren’t revolutionary but they’re a strong evolution in technology, styling and of course transmissions. If you’re looking for more power your wait will be a bit longer but may also be worth it."
The waiting is for an engine refresh in 18Q3
BMW's latest (Dec'17) report has a strong focus on electrification.
But the German AutoBild site highlights a Mini Minor (shared platform with Toyota Starlet) in late 18, along with the elusive SuperLeggera hybrid roadster. If this is true (there's a lot of AutoBild bad CGI models in the pictures) the SL is a fabulous halo car, and the Minor would bring a city size car back into the range. Mini showrooms might get interesting again.

I close look-see shows the website is listing the JCW with the 8 speed auto 'box, and it appears the 210bhp version has the DCT: https://www.mini.co.uk/en_GB/home/range/john-coope...

We have a 15 plate Cooper S, which we've been very pleased with, so much so, that we placed an order for a new one for March delivery last month. Then I saw this New Mini thread the other day, which I hadn't seen before!
I contacted the dealer on Tuesday, who said they're not aware when the upgrades will be released(well they would) but they're going to contact me next week.
We have the auto, which the salesman at the time told me was DCT. Obviously, it wasn't, but other than some jerkiness at roundabouts, has been very good. Will keep you posted on what my dealer tells me.
I was at a Mini dealer at the weekend. The Product guy mentioned that they were expecting BMW/Mini to release information on Wednesday concerning the Mini LCI/Facelift.I contacted the dealer on Tuesday, who said they're not aware when the upgrades will be released(well they would) but they're going to contact me next week.

apologies if been asked before. New to the Mini thing.
There appears to be no mini configurator on the web site? is this a new model of mini just out or about to come out? when is it expected. Think it looks great. trying to work out if I can afford one...
The Configurator was taken down when the LCI (i.e. the 2018 facelifted models) was announced on Wednesday. I guess it'll be up as soon as their digital team have sorted out the app! Not impressive planning though, I was in the middle of speccing a car for a quote and am now having to wait to see how they've priced stuff like Nav now that Visual boost seems to be standard. There appears to be no mini configurator on the web site? is this a new model of mini just out or about to come out? when is it expected. MINIUSA are still showing the pre-LCI car. I can't find any other MINI sites with a live configurator, poor really in this day and age.
EDIT - The even more irritating thing is that the brochure available for download is for the pre-LCI car too, that's really unforgivable
BMW appear to have really dropped the ball on this LCI with no brochures, missing configurator, and a drip feed of revised parts arriving over a year (petrol gauge was early, engines pushed to Q4, etc.). You've got to hope it's lack of resources on the LCI because the design team are working on something amazing for 2019.EDIT - The even more irritating thing is that the brochure available for download is for the pre-LCI car too, that's really unforgivable

There seems to be a mismatch between what Mini are saying and what the BMW press release says. I guess we need to wait for the new configuration tool to be available. The standard car on the updated mini website only has halogens on the front, so should have the standard rear lights.
They've really dropped a ball with not having the configurator up and running.Apparently even the system the dealers are using isnt adding / costing options correctly....
As it happens, I ended up with another BMW group product, as we're offered discounts through work.
