F56 secondary boot floor soaked.

Hi all, I’ve noticed the secondary ( i.e lower) boot floor well on my partners F56 Cooper is full of water. Having looked over the net, it appears to be a common problem ( but I haven’t seen a difinitive answer)The car is a 67 plate so circa 6 months or so out of warranty, so I was wondering if anyone knows of a permanent fix or if owners have had any luck of goodwill out of warranty at all ?
Edited to add that oddly everything above the lower floor is dry.
