Hi

My 2015 F56 Mini Cooper won't accept petrol easily without the pump repeatedly clicking off, even though it's only got less than half a tank of petrol. Rotating the nozzle in the filler neck or pulling it back slightly makes no difference, I just see a small pool of fuel gather on the outside of the fill hole which eventtually drains back down. There are no dashbooard warning lights

In the US I believe there was a service bulletin from Mini instructing a new tank to be fitted. I don't kow if there was a UK recall for this or not, otherwise it's quite an expensive job, it's it's even certain that it's the culprit.

I was wondering if it might alternatively be a fuel tank breather valve?

Or maybe someone has experience of this or can suggest the most likely reason

Any help wil be most appreciated

Thanks for the advice so far. I have had some success with rotating the nozzle 90 degrees clockwise from the normal position, & only squeezing the nozzle 1/3 open. At least I could fill it up. I have ordered a new fuel breather vent valve, only £20 & 10 minutes to fit, but I don't really think it will help the situation as that valve is in the engine bay & not close to the tank. I really do suspect an air lock in the vent pipe is the issue
