Rattling bootlid!!
Discussion
Does anyone know how to fix a rattling bootlid?
My girlfriends Cooper S bootlid rattles on any slightly bumpy road and has done since new. The car has been back to the dealer twice and they never seem to sort it properly. I've heard elsewhere that there's a modified lock with a thicker black coloured latch (rather than a chrome one). But the BMW dealership just deny it or fob her off with some "I'm a spanner-wielding man and you're just a girl who doesn't know much about cars" excuse. I'm tempted to take the car there myself and lean on them till they fix it properly.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for the replies. We've tried adjusting the rubber stops in and out on numerous occasions previously - and it still rattled.
I believe the 'official fix' is to fit a thicker black coated catch - although not being an official recall BMW want to charge for the part which I think is a joke.
The unofficial fix as mentioned on other new-mini sites is to wrap some black insulating tape around the horizontal section of the chrome catch.
I'll try it in the next few days and report back.
