What is the atmosphere like in Italy at the moment?

Anyone over there?
I am considering a drive down soon, but am concerned that if we can find hotel availability the towns won't really have got back to normal. We don't want to drive down only to find a lot of it shut.
I keep an eye on Italian news and watch the webcams in various locations and cannot really fully read what is going on.
Can anyone give me a first hand report please?

Hi, I live in Milan and spent some holiday time in Tuscany and Liguria.I am considering a drive down soon, but am concerned that if we can find hotel availability the towns won't really have got back to normal. We don't want to drive down only to find a lot of it shut.

Things are fine, really. As far as I am concerned, even more enjoyable with less tourists. In Milan, downtown yesterday, it was a bliss. Portovenere, Cinque Terre, Forte dei Marmi, all were very much more liveable.
As far as precautions goes, a good 80% of the times a face masks was needed people were wearing it. Not perfect, but if this is your concern, then, I would not live home until everything is done and over. I have been 10 days in Cannes before going to Tuscany and honestly, French follow the rules way more spottily than us Italians.
