Just 26 days to go until England vs South Africa to open the tournament.

Anyone going and who is your money on. I am off to England vs West Indies on June 14 and I think the Aussies will go very well with Smith and Warner back in the side.

Should be a cracking set of matches. Other predictions welcome.

Good result in the hit and giggle warm up with Pakistan today, Morgan batted beautifully, happy he is in form ahead of the WC

Yesterday made Jofra Archer look even better as a selection.

It's nice to see occasionally but not a fan of these 350+ vs 350+ odis every other match. Something needs to be done to even up the battle between bat and ball. Even just making the boundaries bigger would help.
Not so sure, Bairstow put three over the stands and Roy put one on the fourth floor balcony of the flats...

I broadly agree that perhaps slightly raised seams might help, or free sandpaper for bowlers to use between overs.

On the other hand I think the crowd like to see the big hits, Did anyone really enjoy watching Athers or Cook accumulate 45 in 30 overs ?

Watching the fourth installment of England vs Pakistan

I have a question.

Why is Moeen still in the team?

He simply cannot bat anymore.

Can Vince, Roy and Bairstow all play in the same team and do we really need Root ?

Hit more than 340 with no Bairstow or Morgan, I say that was pretty easy going....

Especially as Buttler made a zip. Would drop Moeen now.

Some interesting points, but tell me - when did Moeen ‘step up” or ‘take England over the line’

I would rather have Vince and then rely on Denly/Root for a few overs than carry Moeen.

Thought Curran bowled nicely and he is probably the best bat of the bowlers.

39 ODI innings from Moeen without a 50.

Agreed, I would drop him.

I hate losing to the Aussies - even in a nothing on it ODI warm up, on a st wicket without Root or Morgan.

But fair fks to Smith, classy ton.

Anyone else on here volunteering at the World Cup? scratchchin

Saw the advert last autum and after a mate of mine had such a great time as a gamesmaker at London 2012, thought I'd give it a whirl.

Despite my background in sports media, I ended up grabbing a role in Accreditation at the Bristol venue. Had my training sessions in the spring and completed my first shift last Wednesday. Got three more shifts this week including the matchday at Bristol next Saturday between Afghanistan & Australia. My shift will coincide with the innings of whoever bats first but I'll be finished by the time (hopefully) the Afghans chase down 350 to beat the Aussies! clap
Nice, sounds like a fun thing to do. Good luck

I will be at one match at least.

Too early to call, however what is clear is Moeen can’t bat for toffee at the moment.

The Saffers are always tough competitors, they can chase this, we need a couple of wickets and soon .

The Kock is gone !

Also if anyone wants to watch the cricket, there is an APP called Yupp TV which has all of the World Cup, with decent commentators. I paid 19.99 euros for the whole thing.

Quality is so far pretty good, and I have the App on my TV. - so full sized too.

Hi Gargamel, I’ve downloaded the app from AppStore but cannot see any cricket subscription? Did you run this through a VPN?

Cheers
Andy
Hi Andy, I am out in Switzerland so no, I didn’t use a VPN - I see in the list below Yupp have the rights in Europe but its SKY in the UK, so that explains it.

Great win for England, Archer looks a really impressive young man & Cricketer

Raw pace with control, he's going to be a superstar.
Indeed the absolute real deal. Though to be fair, Rashid bowled great and Plunkers was strong too.

Our fielding was spot on, I think Buttler dropped a very tough edge, everything else was mint.

Stokes batted very well, loads of control and that catch was a worldy.

Will make everyone else nervous of playing us, when we control and strangle a chase like we did there.

Awful from Pakistan, to not bat your overs is pretty dismal, but to only manage 28 is shocking.

Will be a few unhappy fans.

Is Archer playing for WI as well? Or just England this year?

Well we are using an Aussie coach so something is bound to go wrong. Let’s hope Wickes can still deliver sandpaper on time to the Aussie bowlers or your boys will be in trouble.

I note SA had Imran Tahir bowling for them... go and have a quick read on Cricinfo.

The ICC set the rules, we just play to them. As well you know

We are not hearing much from the bowlers union complaining that ODI is a batsman’s game.

So far three team dismissed without completing their overs.

Interesting.

Bangladesh batting pretty well with this pair. Will be interesting if SA also lose this match having lost to England.

There could be a biggie here 177-2 from 28 overs so far
Saffer decision to bowl looking somewhat silly at this point.
They won the toss ?

Really ?
With the 10:30 starts there is something to be said for making a little use of the early session, if the ball is going to move it will be early on.

Not sure there is much in it these days with the toss, I guess most sides prefer to chase.

I think Bangladesh have just batted very well so far. They need to accelerate now.
