When Mountains Collide
Ace. I reckon Sapp should lose than the amount he has, but I love it when hulks rumble. So long as they can keep up the pace.
What do you reckon of Lashley?

Getting closer to reality? I hope so, so long as it happens might not even be that fussed who wins...but rooting for Brock.

Shame that. I wanted to see Barnett/Fedor, though it would have been on the net.
Barnett is a silly boy, he has thrown away his US career with his reliance on enhancers.

I would like to see Randy against Fedor. If Fedor dos sign a one fight deal then it is the most likely match we shall see I think.

I cant believe Barnett did this before the Fedor fight, the biggest of his career. I'm sure he was thinking he neds all the help he can get but after the Randy fiasco when he was caught last time you'd think he would have learnt his lesson.
Exactly what I was thinking.

I would say Brock weights 275lbs for his fights on average. For two of his UFC matches he is on record as weighing 276lbs. Some people on Sherdog seem to think he fights at 290 or more!biggrin Mir himself is on record at weighing 260plus any UFC 98, he decided to lose 20 lbs for some reason...perhaps it was the knee injury...who knows? I can see Carwin weighing around 260 if he faced Lesnar, I doubt there would be more than 15lbs of weight difference (if Carwin weighs 260) in a any future match-up.

Yes. I would like an on form CroCop or Kongo to have a pop. I want to see someone who can sprawl and fire off kicks take on Lesnar.

In this article by sports.ru, and with assistance from my loyal postal connections buried deep within the Underground Forum and google translator, it appears as if Aleksander Emelianenko is pointing the finger at M-1 Global president and the manager of Fedor Emelianenko, Vadim Finkelstein, as the source of the stalemate in negotiations between Fedor and the UFC.

“On the UFC, you can negotiate. I know that they are sufficiently flexible contracts. And all this talk about the bonded conditions at the time of signing the contract with the UFC come only from Finkelstein, who wants, through a contract with the UFC/Fedor, promote your own business.”

For all of the media hoopla and fan frenzy that has followed in the wake of Fedor’s negotiations with the UFC, and especially for those blaming the UFC for their stringent and allegedly acrimonious contract stipulations, this news is rather shocking.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Vadim Finkelstein demands co-promotional options from the UFC to boost the M-1 Global name and its stable of fighters, as both he and Fedor share a stake in the company’s success and profits. The true lash of the whip lies in Alek’s opinion that the UFC offers “sufficiently flexible” contracts, which would have been greeted with scornful and somewhat evil laughter from many devout Fedor followers… this writer being one of them.
It is interesting. Kind of backs up The UFC's owners words (can't remember namebiggrin) when he says if he could get to Fedor, they might have a deal.

Got this from sherdog.

The UFC offered Fedor a 6 fight, 30 million dollar contract. That's 5 mil a fight
The UFC offered Fedor an immediate title shot
Lesnar/Fedor would be the biggest PPV in MMA history (we assume), and the UFC offered M-1 Global a cut of the PPV on top of Fedor's purse.
Fedor was free to wear as many M-1 logoed items as he wished.
The UFC also relented on allowing Fedor to compete in combat sambo.

Apparently, for good or bad, M-1 refuses to sign a deal unless the UFC agrees to co-promote.
A mistake on Finklsteins part. But it is up to Fedor at the end of the day. I would guess the chance to go for the UFC hvyweights is not what is driving him now.

Shame it is £12 per month, guess I will carry on downloading the events as have no interest in another sports they may have.
Idiots. They have given it to a channel that has no brand recognition in this country and will not increase the amount of ppl who watch UFC in any capacity....UFC really fumbled here. If they wanted to grow in the UK they should have gone with a terrestrial free channel. It's not like they need UK revenue to keep going...completely clueless this decision.

I hope I see these fights and get to see if the sherdog hype is worth it.
Looking at Silva, why is he rated so high when he has a 2/2 record?

MMA is still nothing like a 'real' fight though is it? It's a controlled environment just the same as boxing is.
How many 'real' fights get ended by an arm bar?
I have seen struggles ended by competent a take-down and sometimes a pummelling. It's just that most bullies/drunken idiots don't know how to fight, and windmill/rabbit-punch/playground-headlock their way out of it. Because I think in general trained fighters don't cause trouble and walk away from it (from my experience anyway).
I drove past a local some months ago and I saw the most technically adept bout of fisticuffs I have seen outside of a ring. Looked like both men were trained and were landing bombs on each other...was a bit surreal.
I'll also ad that MMA rules do change from promotion to promotion. Just look at how the UFC used to be...now that was a street-fightbiggrin

I really really want Griffin to beat Anderson. If AS wins then that cemments him as one of the best P4P. however I think that Forrest who walks around at 240lb will be to big and to tough for him. I think that this is AS toughest fight in the UFC to date. Can't see Forrest allowing it to be a boring fight like AS last couple.
I am guessing Forest will weigh around 220 for the fight, Silva around 205-210. I don't think Griffins size advantage will make a huge difference here. I like Forest, but I want a Silva win herebiggrin

Looks like the UFC have just signed Little Nog.

Kinda annoyed as I was looking forward to him fighting Mousasi in Strikeforce. UFC has about 8 of the top 10 lhws so there are not that many great fights for him.
If they have 8 of the top 10, why do you think there are not many great fights for him?
