Gentlemen and Ladies,
As a new esprit owner i have many questions, most of which i have posted here. The response is brilliant..So firstly thanks to everybody who responds, it is very much appreciated.

Ok, business, I need some clarification here. I have a SE (H reg), The dealer who checked my car out explained to me that when the car is warm and idling the turbo boost guage should show a boost pressure. Now mine when warm sits on zero.

Following on from another enquiry regarding my clutch (finding it hard to find second gear), i purchased a braided clutch hose. I put the same question to the independent dealer and he said this was bulls&*t. He said in 2nd or 3rd at about 3500 RPM the boost should show a pressure. But when idling warm it should show zero.

So gents (and ladies) what is the story here... If it should be zero boost when idling warm and .5 bar at 3500 rpm great. If as it warms up the boost guage should rise to hold a pressure fair enough (mines not doin that and any suggestions).

Seasons greating to all

Thanks Lads,
I am a small bit pissed off to be honest, i spent over £300 to get my car checked out, by an independent dealer. now he told me the car was down on power, because the exhaust was blowing around the turbo gasket. He wanted £850 to do the work. So i asked a mate of mine who is really good mechanically to check it out (alot cheaper, and just as good). anyway he said he could not see where it was blowing. Now when i spoke to the independet dealer, i asked him was the visual evidence of the lack of power the fact that there was no boost registering on the guage (at warm idle), and he said it was. Buying a braided clutch hose last week, i spoke to a parts dealer down in devon about this and he said the guy was talkin complete Bulls%$t. Now my problem here as you can appreciate who do you believe? The view i have taken with my esprit is the parts are relatively cheap and cheerfull (GM parts) so if i can do it myself i will. Lets be honest £30-40 p/h ex Vat...opinions?
