Afternoon all,

I'd previously put a post up in the general motorsport section, and then someone suggested that this section might be a better home for it.

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I'm trying to compile a full list of previous FoS Shootout winners and times. I've got about 3/4 of the way through, so I'm hoping people might be able to fill in the blanks - I've heard that there's a book or something that GRRC members get which might have the info?

So far we have -

2016 - Olly Clark, 46.23s
2015 - Olly Clark, 44.91s
2014 - Sebastien Loeb, 44.6s
2013 - Justin Law, 45.95s
2012 - Anthony Reid, 46.46s
2011 - Dan Collins, 48.52s (thanks to myvtecgoesbwaah)
2010 - Roger Wills, 47.15s
2009 - Justin Law, 44.4s
2008 - Justin Law, 44.19s
2007 -
2006 -
2005 -
2004 - Justin Law (thanks to DCLXIV)
2003 - Graeme Wright, 42.9s
2002 - Rod Millen (DCLXIV again)
2001 -
2000 - Martin Stretton (DCLXIV again)
1999 - Nick Heidfeld, 41.6s (still quickest outright)
1998 -
1997 - Nick Heidfeld, 47.3s (ta to Marshalla)
1996 - Jonathan Palmer, 45.0s (Marshalla again)
1995 -
1994 - Martin Brundle (thanks to Eric Mc)
1993 -

Thanks in advance!

I thought my mate Olly was doing well by getting back-to-back wins, I didn't realise though that Justin Law had taken it 5 times and "Quick Nick" 3 times......I'll tell him he needs to up his game for the years to come and move past Anthony Reid's score!!

^^ this.

Matt and Olly weren't expecting to be invited back for a third attempt until the new car is built and ready. Nobody has ever won it more than two years running in the same car (Heidfeld's triple wins were in different cars), the organisers like to vary things if they can. They'd have leapt at the chance if they'd been invited, but it gives them time to get the new weapon built, and hope to be back in 2018 smile

I think you're right there. The commentators alluded to as much yesterday in giving a reason why the contemporary F1 cars don't do timed runs anymore - you only need to watch the video of Heidfeld's record time to know how on-the-limit he was. The timed section is only one part of the festival not the sole raison d'etre, so it's not an out-and-out competitive event, like Harewood or Shelsley Walsh
