I've not paid more than £70 on FoS/MM weekends at the various Portsmouth Premier Inns (including both this year). Breakfast included for FoS this year with that too!Just booked Village Hotel for MM, £89 pretty reasonable.

Did seem a bit of an odd decision given that it was a one-off extreme event that's never likely to be repeated. I loved that it was a proper opener to the season, and yeah, it could be bloody cold, but as an event that's essentially solely for the most enthusiastic of enthusiasts that never seemed to be a problem.From a photography perspective, much better light when it was in March too, and into-the-night racing.

Sunday is about to sell out, if anyone is still on the fence about buying a ticket.
Hopefully them leaving the fields untouched will pay off with regards to parking, large parts of the grassy car parking at Castle Combe were a complete bog yesterday (they had a big event the week before).

That would be about 500 round trips, so I'm guessing unlikely! FoS was incredibly boggy a few years back but things just about held up even over 4 days.

Seemed ok when I walked through an hour ago. I say 'ok', everywhere is muddy, but the Lavant Bank was less muddy than the public car parks!Heard some marshals complaining they'd been given a complete bog to camp in over the weekend, the campsites seem to have it particularly bad.
A day of warmth seems to have salvaged the situation somewhat, the main routes through the car parks are absolutely fine as long as you can get to them (loads of 4x4s patrolling ready to help). A few iffy parking areas but most were ok this evening. The bottom end of C (near the road crossing) was the worst I saw, further back it was ok.
I thought it was just me dreaming that it felt absurdly busy this year, has capacity been increased? I spend quite a bit time around the chicane infield and every year previous it's been easy to just wander into a spot on the fence line nearest the chicane at any time...not a chance this year. The crowd line was pretty solid all the way to Madgwick.

Was it always 25k per day for the MM? Staggeringly busy this year, I guess it was inevitable, a lot more opportunities to sell a small slice of bacon in a toasted muffin for £7.50.A few piccies...
