So from the success of the 1st Swinley PH group ride Daddy Cool organised, http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... let's do another :-)

I propose the 1st weekend of May either Saturday 2nd or Sunday 3rd.

Official Swinley trail information here > http://www.thecrownestate.co.uk/media/289819/mount...

Car parking gets damn busy on weekends so good to arrive early I'll be getting there for 09:30, so I suggest meeting at the start posts at 10am ready to depart on the ride at 10:10, ten past as facilities open at 10am should they be needed.

Regards speed etc if anyone is concerned about keeping up or us being too slow this is my Strava from last time, it does autostop and we did have plenty of stops (53mins worth) we'll always wait for the slowest rider :-)

Who's up for it?

Sunday's good for me, if everyone can say on this thread which day(s) they can do we'll go with the most popular.

So Sunday preference so far, I realised today it's actually a bank holiday weekend as well so I guess that'll either mean more attendees as they will only be disappearing out the house for a smaller proportion of the 'weekend', or maybe less if family stuff gets enforced :-)

Still sure to be able to get more trips in through the summer if people can't make this one.

I hope Yellowjack will be there and he's not going to be sacking off the MTB now he's got a shiny new road bike? ;-)

Yeah as said more or less flat, but what elevation they do have they have done very well with, some real fun DH sections just a shame they are over with in 30 / 40 seconds.

Which segment is the downhill from the open area near a fenced bit in, think it's quite far into red? That's my favourite bit. Big berms table top jump rooty. Where the DH kids hang out.

That's it, by the reservoir. Love it certainly my favourite, you get loads of speed up very quickly then it's all jumps and fun.

Well the weather looks properly st. Rain all day, I'm just on the way to pick up my mate and head on down. Water proofs def a good idea today. If possible can people coming update the thread and say they will be there (trailhead at 10am for 10:10 departure) so we are not hanging round un-necessarily getting more and more drowned :-)

It was surprisingly dry, although I was soaked in my waterproofs doh! Just finished cleaning my bike when the thunder started and heavens opened, so spot on timing.

Good to meet everyone, hopefully get another one in with nice fast dry trails in the summer.

Also if any ones got any other areas riding worth sharing, post up.

I'll plan a Cwmcarn trip later in the summer for sure, bit harder riding and as it more travel getting there its always worth doing both XC routes back to back, maybe with a lunch break, the cafe is good, 1000m climbing 30km for both routes.

Cheers

Steve

Yes, it was strange I though a guy was going to come who's notorious for SPD fails, completely forget what his name is, maybe I'm imagining things ;-)
