I have a giant defy composite 2013 with a tiagara 10 speed groupset. Last year i upgraded the wheels to mavic ksyrium elites.

I have been using the bike more this year than ever and was dancing a new bike however part of me thinks this would be a bit crazy as the defy is well suited to my lack of flexibility and lack of descending bottle. Would it be a good idea to upgrade the groups to ultegra?

This would save a bit of cash (i have been looking at new defy's at £2500) and i think would save a bit of weight. It might also give me the new bike feeling!

It's a good frame, and Ultegra is a different world from Tiagra., so probably a good move if you are using the bike a lot, and a good time of year to do it. Will feel like a new bike.

But a whole Ultegra group-set will not be cheap!
About £500 I believe, plus finding someone to fit it.

Would you run to £900 for Ultegra Di2 ?

That would make a difference that you really would notice
I don't think my frame will take di2.

Just thought up an issue with upgrading to 11 speed. My turbo trainer is a tacx neo with a 10 speed cassette. This is shared with the wife who also has a 10 speed tiagara bike. Me changing to 11 speed would mean a massive faff on changing cassettes when changing bikes wouldn't it?
