Afternoon, could I ask some advice. I am finding the groupset on my bike a little clunky, especially when climbing. Could anybody point me in the right direction for abit of an upgrade to something smoother riding. What sort of groupsets would work on my bike? I cycle 20/30 mile rides, I think the existing is 2x9 set up.

Many thanks in advance

To get the gears smoother would infer more ratios with smaller gaps but that'll mean you may need a new back wheel as your current free wheel won't take the latest 11 or 12 speed cassettes. I would've thought a Deore group set would be pretty slick anyway. Has it had new cables in the last year? If your sure it's all tickety boo then the current 2x11 SLX is a bargain. You'd probably notice a bit of a gain by dumping that heavy square drive front crank. You could do that anyway?
Thanks for the replies. I think I am actually asking the wrong question. I bought the hybrid as I was not sure if it was road or light off road cycling which I would prefer. After a few months it is definetly road cycling and the faster the better. The question should be, how can I make my bike a faster road bike. Budget £750-£1k, But I need to work around the existing frame.....

Thanks for the replies...of course you are right, keeping the Charge for the winter and looking at a new road bike for the summer is the answer...I think I will have a good look around the end of the summer and see what sort of deals there are, thanks again for your responses...
