Hi all,

I am looking for feedback from those that have purchased YT products? I saw an earlier thread on here, however want more up-to-date feedback given they are starting to sell larger volumes..

Given their direct route to market, has this made the experience more challenging then purchasing from a regular bike shop? Anyone had any warranty issues? What is quality of the product?

I see that have been getting exceptional reviews on some of their models and the bang for your bucks features highly..

Thanks
G

I have owned a YT Jeffsy for about 1 year now.

A quantum leap from my 2008 Cube Stereo. This was my first 29er. Rolls very fast, steering very fast and precise. Front end feels impressively stiff with 34mm fork and 15mm axle in comparison to the 32mm and QR on my Cube.

Long Top Tube and short stem geometry shifts weight distribution right back.

Feels very confidence boosting.

Bike feels very very light - Carbon frame/ wheels/bar/cranks. 12kg feels realistic.

FOX Float DPS schock feels good straigt away, 34mm fork not as suple as I would hope for.

SRAM Guide brakes not so great for me - with lots of vibration under braking - could be that I didn't get the pad material transfer right.

Quality is very high on every frame component including the fasteners. I have had zero problems on mine and on an active german yt forum, there are very few problems reported.

Regarding buying a direct sales bike. Sale and delivery completely to plan, no problems.

The obvious problem is the difficulty to get a test ride to assess the right frame size. I live a couple of hours from the factory, but even then, the demonstrators are often out on test days all over europe/ rest of world, so I bought blind.

I have a feeling that size L instead of XL would have been better for me. That's the main disadvantage. In theory, I could have sent it back before riding it, but wanted to stick with it.

Very impressed, and highly recomended
Many thanks all for the feedback. I have my eye on the Jeffsy and you raise a great point about test ride. They appear to be no where in the UK for the rest of the year. This is quite important for me, as I have a long body and shorter legs, I am around 5.11 so thought the large would be right. Sounds like it will need to be a leap of faith. Does anyone know if they are going to release a 2018 bike? or will that come much later?

I currently ride a 29er (hard tail) at least once a week and need something a bit more dynamic that can manage hills, flats and fast trails. Is the Jeffsy the right tool for the job, should I also consider the Capra?

Thanks G
