Specialized Shoes

I'm an occasional mountain biker, and have always used flat pedals. I've just been given an unused pair of Specialized Body Geometry shoes.

I don't understand whether they support a clip/cleat system. It sounds like they have some metal in the sole because one rattles, but the outside of the sole is solid rubber.

Does anyone know what I have?

Thanks everyone. Might have a go cutting the rubber off tomorrow.

Is this a standard cleat? Are they compatible with multiple brands of pedals?
