This one ,

Carbon, Ultegra, mech discs.

Looks like the frame is open mould and has been commonly used for other makes, does that make it a bad thing?

Everything else with Ultegra and any discs is 1300+ in 2018 form, usually more.

Should I? If not,what should I get?!

ETA: This my possible alternative. Looks tedious, old 105, but "better" frame perhaps?

I don't have to buy new, but as above, finding something the right size, anywhere close, that has anything other than dubious provenance, has been proving a challenge.

Ultegra being the trade off for the alu frame and rim brakes on that I guess, I have got an awkward price point haven't I!?

I am taking the been-on-sale-for-months-presumably-because-it's-hardly-a-looker Vitus as the "benchmark" really, which is full carbon (from a stock mould it seems) plus clearance 105 (the older 5800 version) with rim brakes for a grand. There are others about, like at the "do you risk the customer service?" Cycle Republic where a skip bike gives £100 off this 2018 Genesis Zeal https://www.cyclerepublic.com/genesis-zeal-20-mgt-...

I have missed a few carbon bikes with higher groupsets at the same price (the Fuji's that CRC and Wiggle have had on clearance had Ultegra and were also ~999) which is annoying but there you do, and what I'd quite like thanks to the extensive debate on here about discs, is them too.

Appreciate I'm dreaming to get new 105 or Ultegra/ full carbon and hydro discs for 4 figs on the nose, and I don't mind going up a few hundred to get all of them, but it seems it will be something with some other drawback, be that a Ribble, whatever from Decathlon or Planet-X, which a lot of people on here appear to swear by, so it's interesting to have some different experience!
