Recommend a route near Malvern?
Discussion
Hi PH,
I've never been to Malvern before. Thinking of taking the bike and should have a child free slot for about 2-3 hours.
Can any locals recommend a route of 20-30 miles? Will be setting off at about 4.30 - 5 PM so i'm mainly wanting to avoid traffic. Love hills but i'm out of shape so nothing that can't be done on 34-28 please!
Cheers in advance

Where are you starting from, exactly? If you have a list of requirements, such as interesting places to stop I'll be back online tonight. Or drop me a PM.
Some of the busy roads are fine for cycling, and some of the quiet roads are suicidal.
Thanks Wiccan and Usget. Some of the busy roads are fine for cycling, and some of the quiet roads are suicidal.
Staying at the spa hotel. On a map, it's right next to an area of outstanding beauty - i'd like to try to find a route that takes that in, but without 20% hills - i tried plotting a map freehand and had a 25% ramp and a near 30% descent - bugger that!
I live on the border between cheshire plain and the peaks - so although a flat ride is tempting I'd like a bit more bump - thinking 2500-3000 feet of climb maybe? Not too prescriptive though coz all i really need is "these roads are.nice, those roads are awful" or "you must go here it's lovely".
Thanks again
Hi Wiccan,
Thanks again - just finished it.
Really good route with very little traffic. I especially liked the bit just after the gate where you meander through pretty much nothing with the occasional inquisitive sheep. View from the top at the start was just beautiful today as well - really clear with the sun coming though the trees.
