Anyone know what happened later in afternoon yesterday that caused the racing to be stopped? I had to leave around 3 so missed the finals.

Sh*t that's tragic. It was a fantastic weekend's racing. Apart from the spectator's family, the driver must be devastated.

The coverage on Eurodragster says they had a brief break due to a medical emergency but then got back to racing again. Once the pro finals were finished I guess the outcome of the incident was known and they stopped the event.

Man that's sad news. I read about there being a medical emergency, but didn't realise that's what had happened. Sadly, as it says on the ticket, motorsport is dangerous. Without wishing to sound insensitive given the circumstances, I'd hate for this sad event to be the catalyst for all sorts of Health and Safety constraints on the sport.
