I’m looking to buy a Honda Accord Estate from a local dealer. It looks in good condition.

Any help or advice would be brilliant.

Wouldn't touch that one. Here's a list of issues I can see so far.

1. If it genuinely has the original 2.4 engine, it should have twin exhausts (one each side). Its either had an engine swap to a 2.0 (which I reckon is the case), or it's actually missing the exhaust on the near side. All 2.4's have twin exhausts, all 2.0's have a single.

2. Both rear wheel arches are full of filler done as a proper bodge job. Especially the off side rear. Looks pretty awful. Have a look at the photos in detail.

3. Rear bumper is either not original or has been very poorly painted. And off side rear wing has quite a few dents in it (I know it's an old car, but looks pretty rubbish).

4. Rear parcel shelf is missing and is quite expensive and difficult to find. The rear luggage/dog net is there, but not retracted properly so highly likely not working.

5. Has had 7 owners!

6. Last MOT has a lot of advisories and expires in 4 months. Either expect to get that work done, or have the garage get it done beforehand. Doubt they'll do that anyway.

Personal opinion is that it's a bit of a dog, and there are better ones out there if you can be patient. I would walk away, but that's only my personal opinion.
That’s fantastic advice. I think I will leave this one and see if I can find another.
