I know, I was referring more to the April price rise, as people where already saying it was to expensive.
This says to me, that there a going to be very very limited numbers coming to the uk.
Even less than first thought

Well mine in Championship White arrives in March so I’m very happy!
I’ve only seen this price increase mentioned here. This will further stir up the discussion re this car being too expensive!!!
I have been worried about the price and was expecting around £40k.
There are many great cars available for around £47/49k, however many will be well used, out of warranty or new but with relatively steep depreciation.
If the FL5 retains its value well then hopefully there may be very little cost at all.
Hi Harry, glad you got one, my choices were blue or white, I got blue.

I had been looking at second hand Caymans 981 s and gts,. good gts are around the same money or more on a 15 plate. Then on top it is going to cost a fortune to own and run.( I had a 911 something always needed doing and it was always expensive)

Get the 5 yrs service plan £695 if you did not add it when you ordered your car. Even if you sell your car you will get more money for it.

Do not worry about the price you paid for the Type r, it will be worth more the day you pick it up. And if you keep hold of it until production stops, 2 to 3 yrs and keep the mileage reasonable , it will still be worth what you paid for it.

Production number for the Uk are going to be very low for this car,

The price increase comes onto effect on April 8th, so if people have not got a March car it is going up 2k more.

Still not a horrible deal when you consider they are selling on autotrader for 54 to 57k. 57k is a bit rich , but I know a blue one sold for 55k and one of the white ones has gone now ,that was advertised for 56k. and yours will be a 23 plate not the older 72 plate lol.

Just Today a Honda dealer has advertised one for £54995 on autotrader.

So do not worry about anything but enjoying your new car. You have made the right choice.

Thanks for the reassurance!
I also was looking at used 981 GTS but the boxster so I could enjoy open air motoring and the sound of an in line 6 with the sports exhaust option!
I was put off by maintenance and warranty costs.
I’m happy with my choice of the Honda R.
Now I’m just trying to decide whether to follow the trend of ppf on front end plus ceramic coating.
I might sound stupid but I don’t like the thought of stuff being stuck to my new paintwork and coatings that permanently bond!
Also ppf can be hard to get off when they’ve been on a while.
Sorry gone off on a car detailing tangent!
I think it is slightly dependant on how many miles you intend to do wether ppf is worth it or not. i t is expensive. and I have seen some awful jobs done..

I have another car to use daily , so I am not going to do it,

I am going to ceramic coat it as I work at a dealership ( so free).

In fact I am going to valet it myself, as there is no point in ceramic coating over paint swirles,. then ceramic coat it myself..

I hope this helps

Both my local places use XPEL. Crazy difference in price though, £750 vs £1500 for the front bumper and bonnet.
Hope you are laying down for this.

Southport Honda are advertising a racing blue for £59000 no offers. On Autotrader (the world has officially gone mad).

Watch the video.

Just watched that video and in relation to that salesman, my initial thoughts are ‘ what a f*****g tosser’ and how I’d never buy a car from Southport Honda ! To quote-

‘There are no offers on this car the price is what it is advertised at. No mats come with it free but obviously we can sell them to you. There is no service plan with this car.’

With that mark up he could throw some mats in ??

Throw in a set of mats? I I would be hoping he would throw in a suitcase with 5k in the boot.

It is getting out of hand , pre reg a car to the dealership , then ask 12k over msrp.

Well my supplying dealer has managed to shift the red FL5 for £54k.
I’ll have to ask whether they threw some mats in…….
Yes I noticed that, the other red one has gone as well,

Still think the guy trying to sell the blue one for 60k is punching above his weight

Yes I know, and I am glad as my Blue one arrives March 15th.

The problem for me is that if they start selling for 60k I will be tempted to sell it.

I’m worried I picked the wrong colour as there is a CW on autotrader cheap at £53,950!
I wonder what happened to the one at Southport Honda?
Don't know about the Southport Honda one, I have just noticed the 60k blue one has been reduced to 56950, a bit more like it.

It will be interesting to see if any 23 plate one's go on sale come the end of March, and how much they ask..

The blue one on Collecting cars went for £47k - the seller must be regretting that!
Yes I bet, not the place to sell with no reserve, that's for sure.

Buyer got it for just over £50400 with the fees. I think he has done well.

Ps anybody who is getting one in March. Don't forget to buy the 5yr service plan at £695 it is well worth it.

If you keep it, you have paid servicing, and if you sell it, your car will stand out from the one's that don't have it. It's a no brainer.

So my car arrived today, and I have to say I am over the moon with it. It just looks so good in person

And as for being dull compared to the fk8, no way jose, it looks brutal.

The other thing that really surprised me is just how good the steering wheel feels , and I only drove it from the front to the back of the dealership.

Hi. Can I ask-Did you buy the red elegance car mats?

I’ve ordered them but the dealer has messaged to say ‘Please note that the Carpet Mats will need to be fitted by cutting the clips into the carpet, they have said that if you want us to do that for you then there would be a small fitting charge, or we can just pop it all in the car for you ‘
I thought all cars came with studs ready for mats????
Does anyone know what this involves?
Sorry if this is a stupid question

The clips come with the mats, if you have paid full price for them that price includes the tiny amount of labour for fitting, so challenge them on an extra fitting charge.
It does involve cutting the the carpet , but the marks where to cut on the carpet are already there.
If you fit them yourself you only need a stanley knife, but it is a bit fidely to do.
I did order them ,but mine are on back order, so well done if they have them for you.
I am picking mine up today, hence I have been up since 4am . Feels like Christmas.

Unless you are a trained carpet fitter with 20 years experience get them to fit the carpets.

I did my fk8 and made a right arse of it.
You may be right lol

It's a bit fiddly for me , and I have done lots of them.

But if you paid full price when ordering the car as opposed to buying after, fitting is included in the price
