Talk to me about these, are they just a DC5 in a sensible saloon? Are they worth the money?

I've also heard that these have electric PAS rather than the hydraulic on the Integra, is this as bad its sounds it could be?

you are correct to think a CL7 is a sensible version of a DC5, in some key areas for example the chassis, suspension, inlet manifold, cams, exhaust manifold the Accord is better spec'd than the Integra.

Regarding the steering, yes the CL7 EUro has an electric power steering setup where as lower range Accords & the Integra Dc5 have hydraulic assisted.

I've had the chance to go around Castle Combe in various EG/EK/EP3 Civics, DC2+DC5 Integras, a CL9 Accord Type S and a CL7 Accord Euro R. Directly comparing the DC5 and CL7 with the same tyres and both fitted with upgraded coilovers/geometry setups I prefer the CL7 not just the steering feel but how the platform handles! The DC5 actually has a less sophisticated rear suspension setup & the front steering rack suffers from worse bump steer. The CL7 feels both responsive yet more composed due to it's slightly longer wheel base & less twitchy back end which I believe is weight distribution related due to having a chunk more boot over the rear axle!!
Fantastic info thank you, I didn't realise they were better in the ways you've said. They sound like a real unsung hero overshadowed by the Integra and Civic. I also much prefer the cabin in the Accord, the Recaros are lovely and its a bit more grown up.

Do you have any opinion on the example shown? I've asked a few friends and they think £13k for a 'old Accord' is crazy

I like these alot and still thnk they're an absolute bargain at the moment. Probably because they look so unassuming.
It's the unassuming nature of them that I love, just an old Honda to most people and those that know know

Ours cost just over 10k, with aero kit, mugen exhaust, mugen spoiler, 18” works wheels and a couple of braces with 69k on the clock.
Prices don’t seem to drop below 8k in the market & I’ve kept check over the years.
I guess with the way the current car market is this isn't a terrible price then, the mileage is a bit on the high side in my mind though.

Do you have the same Mugen exhaust as the one listed? What sort of sound are you getting, I like a bit of sound but not obnoxious. It will be strictly B road use so I'm not that bothered about droan,

BHP imports had advertised an absolutely stunning red cl7 a couple of weeks ago, not sure if its still available but if I was in the market for one it would be that!
Just searched for that, it’s sold. Looked a lovely example, do you know how much it was advertised for?

The mugen exhaust is twin wall, but more slash cut like a dc2. The sound is perfect (I don’t like loud exhausts, had a spoon N1 on a DC2 and that was terrible!)
That’s exactly what I’m after. A friend had a N1 decat on a EP3 and that was horrific, not my thing at all.

Would you recommend any intake mods?

Ours is standard, apart from the exhaust. Having the rbc manifold as standard gives good torque.
I have a k swap dc2 with RRC manifold which is 212 atw so I’m guessing the CL7 will be 190 atw so I would recommend a remap and velocity stack filter. It works our quite expensive per bhp…
As you know Hondas are more about the whole package working together… than outright power.
Not after power gains, I just want to hear those Vtec sounds

@hippea did you enquire about/go and look at this car by any chance? I'm getting a call about it today and would be good to know if there's any reason why you think it's no good. Cheers.
I didn’t in the end, it’s not perfect timing for me to be looking for a new car. Looks a lovely car, if you do buy it please update on here how you get on
