I've recently invested in a GoPro Hero 5 to use on my track car but want to add something to the videos to liven them up a bit. Does anyone know of any data logging app on IoS that will overlay the video with speed, position, g forces etc?

Racechrono (my choice), harrys lap timer and trackaddict are the 3 most commonly mentioned. All will do that. Speed wont be very accurate usingba phones internal GPS. You will want a 10hz bluetooth reciever, combine that with a OBD2 module (if your car is new enough to have a port.(most do from this millennium!). This will allow logging of loads more. Like revs and throttle position, speed direct from the speedo.
I use racechono basic with obd2 add on pack, then combine video and data in racerender. But if you buy the pro version of most lap timers they combine the video for you.

Love the video, this is just what I'm trying to achieve, thanks.

Or buy yourself a tomtom bandit, has all the features of a hero and with gps/telemetry for half the price.

Regardless of whether you use tomtom or GoPro to capture the footage, you then need to download Dashware (free software) to then add all the cool data overlays. I don't think they have an app, desktop only.
Cheers, already have the GoPro though so I'm looking for something that will work with that. Ill download dashware though and have a look at that. Thanks for the tip. I'm new to this so just trying to get my head around the best way to do it
