I'm looking for recommendations for which track day pad to use.

I'm running a Subaru Impreza, 280hp/1100kg, with Gold Brembo's. After searching around a lot I landed on Ferodo DS3000s but its £300 a set, this is a bit more than I'd like to spend and very potentially overkill as the car is quite light, underpowered and has pretty decent calipers.

Any suggestions for a decent cheapish pad that won't fade?

Thanks for the responses guys, what I've taken from this is if I want a decent track pad there's no such thing as a budget one.

After reading through recommendations its between Carbotech XP10 and Pagid RS29s. The RS29s look like the best pad tbh but they're super expensive. I've had a quote from Ian at Carbotech so I'll go with them, not happy about the cost in the slightest but it doesn't look like I've got another option!

Another vote for XP10, have lasted approx. 8 days so far and still have life left in them. Expensive though.
I've got XP10s now, paid a chunk for them but they seem worth it. 8 days and still have life in them though, is this a surprise? Someone mentioned earlier DS2500s lasting one track day, what are you people doing to your brakes? laugh

I did a full season of sprints and multiple track days in a full weight 400hp Evo 8 with Carbotech XP8s a couple years ago, lots of hard road use too and the pads still had plenty of life left. I got them so hot at Cadwell park I melted my centre caps too!

I take every word back. A couple friends of mine had DS2500s in there Leon Cupra track car and destroyed them down to the pad backing in 2 track days. I think past a certain heat the pad material falls to pieces especially as it was the inside pads that were down to the pad backing, outside had a touch more material on them.

Great pads for road use, but get them too hot and they wear very quickly.
