Donny’s limit is 98db drive-by isn’t it? It allows for some pretty loud cars!

trouble is i'm not sure what 'loud' is in this context. Are we talking, cars with catless downpipes and such that easily trigger that threshold?
at bedford last year i simply lifted off around the sound meter and had no issues. Some cars like an M5 competition didn't even bother and they had no issues, and i'm assuming that car must be somewhat as loud as my 440i with the mppsk.
and i think bedford has stricter measures.

well. i can confirm 0 issue, i didn't have to lift off or anything. Plenty of cars louder still with no issue.
so, at least we know any bmw M car or anything with a straight 6 and M performance exhaust is absolutely fine
