Hey folks

Been hearing from a few reliable sources about the death of Team Dynamics UK wheel factory & the pro race wheels they made, with the future overseas TD replacement seemingly never coming.

I’m just curious particularly from the track focused crowd what the recommendations are for budget tracks wheels now? Is it really coming down to settling for heavy Rota’s or Japan Racings, or spending well over a 4 digit sum importing from Japan or Italy/Germany?

When I went to Rimstock at the start of lockdown, the guy I spoke to said that they weren't shutting down.

As has been mentioned, alot of production was being moved overseas. He said that they were only manufacturing limited widths in the UK for the time being (nothing over 7j)

Obviously, it's been quite some time since the start of lockdown, but you can still buy them from Demon Tweeks, so assume things must still be in process.
Not heard anything back from DT, however Larkspeed sales rep claims they have not heard any news of new stocks & aren't expecting anything new to arrive by this point as it'd been almost a year since their last service update.

I've heard a similar report echoed from a friend who's involved in a large Caterham/7 builders/owners club.

Both seem to suggest there was a temporary shutdown of UK production due to covid, their was then a company restructuring and a decision was made to close their UK plant permanently & move production of all lines overseas, however they've never provided a date for the new production taking over nor have they been open about the progress of their operations.

Sadly I think it'd be safe to say whatever new TD wheel we get will likely not be of the quality and specification of what we have previously known, as is often the case with cost related movements of production.

There still seems to be a lot of stock about in common sizes, sadly I'm hunting for an old Nissan with a obscure PCD (4x114.3)

Have you tried performancealloys.com

They have 4x114.3 in stock.
Not 16x7s sadly. Only 15s, 17s & 18s, pretty much like everywhere else, wierd stock gaps.

Thanks for looking though.
