Just had a look over a 2010 Mini Cooper S R56 N14, 91,000 miles. Plan is to track day it. Really nice little car, FSH, lady and daughter use it for mainly town driving. Test drive great, but then she said she'd been told the "post-catalytic converter oxygen sensor light sometimes comes on". Of course it didn't all the time I was there or driving it.

Left it idling for about five minutes after the test drive, switched it off, then she fired it up to move it back to her parking spot. Blue smoke. Not much of it, but a light puff as she pulled away.

Is it a potential impending turbo failure, valve stems, or something else, or do they all do that, sir...?.And will a bit of track day thrashing hasten any possible demise...?
