Anyone work in Milton Keynes for Volkswagen Group UK?

Am looking at a change of job and wondered if any PH users worked for Volkswagen Group UK in Milton Keynes, specifically in the Finance sector?

I bookmarked their careers page for regular searches filtering by Head Office, but am finding it rather fruitless and faceless!

Hello,

I've managed to establish some contact with someone at VW.

I'm also talking with automotive recruiters, some of whom have said it is unlikely I will get recruited into the sector from a different industry, unless I am looking at dealership roles.

Has anybody here gone into the automotive industry - into a head office role - from another industry?

I'm in foreign exchange at the moment at have prior experience (before and during university) at dealership level in different departments.

Am looking at fleet management or treasury roles - am being told by my contact at VW that they *think* the FX for the UK is handled in/by the GMBH.

48k, I think the first thing I would like to know is if there is a treasury department in MK which handles the foreign exchange exposure for the Group.

Jazzy, thanks, I will have a look at other manufacturers too, but have a particular interest in the VW Group. Thanks for your wisdom on the HR front; a point a view I share with you :-) - quite how people manage a few days off without suspicion when chasing just the one job, I've no idea!

I've been on holiday so the search has dried up a bit. Just before leaving for LHR the Friday before last, I was told I was not going to be offered a compliance role at another FX firm that I interviewed for - despite good feedback - so that wasn't great.

I've learned from speaking to a couple of contacts (a used car buyer at a big group and an automotive recruiter) that I'm going to find it hard to find a role [that isn't in a showroom] coming from outside of the industry.

I have prior experience in the industry both during university (driver/sales assistant/fleet admin/general dogsbody/car park attendant ) and six months in sales (that was interesting!) at a mix of Audi, VW and SEAT dealers.

Thanks Vaud that is an interesting point you make. I want to combine my interests in automotive and finance and have a particular interest in the VW Group and their cars.

Perhaps I should apply to the Premier League HQ in that case
