To cut a long story short i've been in my current workplace for coming up to seven years and for the past five i've tried to leave to go elsewhere, anywhere but it hasn't happened and my current situation keeps getting worse.

My boss recently left because he got fed up with the place and his role and I was told I was getting shoved into it (with no pay rise) whether I like it or not and the job has become an absolute nightmare.

The two directors don't actually have a clue how the place is run and what needs to be done and i'm currently being expected to do the work of three people everyday which is becoming unbearable especially when they are expecting stuff that is currently taking 3 days to be done to be done in an afternoon all while other work which is a month behind is still sitting and doesn't look like it's going to be done anytime soon.

I live in Glasgow and I just don't understand how after trying to find another place to work in the past five years in the third biggest city has amounted to absolutely nothing.

I've had my CV re-done countless times and had advice from lots of people everywhere including here but to no avail and I feel like my only option is to hand my notice in and leave my current place which I know people say you should never do without a job to go to but I honestly cannot face going into the place anymore. I'm really starting to feel like someone is pulling strings somewhere and i'm not in control of my life anymore.

I feel like if i've had this much bad luck in looking for a job though then it'll be even worse if employers see that I just randomly left my last job with nothing to go to.

I've always loved dogs and have thought about volunteering for the dogs trust if I left but I know that might not lead to anything.

If anyone is ever been or is an employer would you consider/hire someone that had ever left a job because they couldn't stand the place anymore??

i knew a bloke who couldn't get a job locally, in Newcastle, so moved to the job. Maybe that is what you need to do.
That's another option of course but a lot of places won't consider you unless you live locally and of course it would be risky moving somewhere where I don't know anybody and eating into my savings whilst trying to get a job.
