Few years ago i used to work somewhere really warm and nice, the pay was crap and I was always broke but I loved my work. I didn't have a 47in LCD tv with Sky HD, I didn't own a fancy pants car just a little 50cc moped which got pushed more than I used to ride it. Life was simple but good. However this job was only seen as a little job to see me through my extended holiday. Main thing here was I was happy as a pig in st!

I now have a decent job that pays well but I hate it. I am still just as broke as I was in my crap job though I do have a fancy pants car, a 47in LCD TV with SKY HD and other trappings of modern life. Yet this position in life is deemed more acceptable than my last job, its the sensible thing to do according to many, my parents included.

I just don't get it myself. Why is this? Is this some kind of idealoogy that we should go through life miserable as fk, paying cash to the man constantly, have all of lives glittery st and all work "Sensible" jobs and push ourselves to keep up with the neighbours?

Find a job that pays well, that you like?

Works for me.
Why? Why not find a job that I like and love rather than a high paid job that I will eventually find annoying. Its this ideaology that everyone has. Shouldn't I just find a job that I love regardless of how well it pays? But low paid jobs usually have a st life style attached (at least in this country).
