E60 V10 with E90 V8 manual gearbox

As per title I read somewhere that they mate up easly has anyone ever considered the conversion so you lose the headache of the smg going pop??

getting back on topic how hard of a job is this and can the box handle the power.

The box can easily take the power - it is making the v10 fit around things like steering rack, radiators etc, which will be challenging. Then you have the small matter of coding the V10 to work with 6the spd box and not to look for the SMG box when you press the "Start Engine" button. You can solve the latter by fitting a Pectel ECU, but that is not cheap either. This is not a job for a DIY-er, unless you are super good with spanners and have access to a proper garage with fabricating equipment...

Sorry I meant fitting the v8 box to the v10 while it remains in the e60 shell so just the box swap.
