OK, I might be only one here judging by the other thread but I really like this car and I'm happy to throw my hat in the ring.

Rather than views on the car, I would like to hear other prospective owners views on what they are ordering and the rather long wait until next June when it's out.

I have a deposit down but as yet no confirmed car, how are you finding it?

Well, apparently all the cars have been allocated and I've not heard anything yet so no car for me. Anyone else luckier?

Not herd they have been allocated yet.? Do they still have your deposit.? I spec'd a car and paid a deposit a while back and still waiting to here..
My dealer says a bulletin went out a couple of days ago saying all 29 (?) customers have now been contacted.

You know they don't do it in yellow...... wink

Love that number you had on your breadvan... Did you sell it with the car?
No, kept it for while because at the time I was looking for a S54, eventually sold it to Jonttt (you may know him) who put it on his lovely S54 convertible.

I just hope these cars have gone to other BMW fans like us and not just speculators.

I'm trying to understand how the allocation process unfolded, if you hear anything drop me a PM, it may help with the M2 CSL. beer

I'd be really curious if you asked nicely if they could avoid drilling the boot to fit the halfords wing. Then with the wheels painted satin grey could actually look ok.

Also did I read the press release right that you could have back seats if not going for the clubsport package ?

I asked the sales head at the dealer where I put the deposit down for the M2 and he told me they didn't have any clue about the car as was all managed directly by BMW UK on the basis of registered interest.

To be frank. If they do a follow up vanilla special version with the M3 like they did last time (can't remember what they called it) taking some elements of the GTS like water cooling, coil over suspension and other tricky stuff but without the naff wing not wheels it could be an awesome car.
The best solution would be to buy a replacement boot lid and keep the factory version for re-sell but it would ruin the aero and I guess you could refirb the wheels but like you say, better to wait for the Competition Pack which is already doing the rounds - (credit - Bimmerpost)

It appears too many Frozen Grey cars have been ordered, several are being asked to change their colour or get their money back.

(My rejected order was white, I'll wait by the phone....) woohoo

12 BMWs in 9 years wasn't enough apparently, but still not bitter. banghead

Early reviews suggest it's not a 5 star car. Luckily, I'm still not bitter. wink

Still miffed I missed out, anyone seen one in the wild? On a track?

Has anyone who missed out ordered a DTM?

I went on a Palmer day a few weeks ago in Bedford Autodrome and they had 6 or 8 M4 GTS'S. I really enjoyed thrashing it round for 15-20mins it really is confidence inspiring great breaks can carry huge speed round and cope with unloading and loading up direction change. The noise well it was fine but v the V8 and the E46 M3 I've driven that's certainly inferior. But performance it rips you out of the corners.

Looks - these were white and liveried up /I liked a lot. I struggled to get in with the roll cage and helmet on but only did once in and out so didn't know the technique
It appears these are 'only' stripped and modded track M4s with 425 bhp, still along way from the 500 bhp GTS.

I had to check it out because I was somewhat miffed thinking Palmer Sport got nearly 30% of UK allocation!

4 years late but looking at the current prices together with dimishing ultra low mileage stock made me bite the bullet.......

Early impressions are very promising. Any other owners out there?
