Hi,

Just thought I would try here. I am after a nice E46 M3 convertible, I am a mature (private) buyer, based in West Midlands. The E46 M3 has always been on my radar and now is the time to spend the hard earned and get one!

To save anyone's time - this is the type of car I am after:

E46 M3
Manual g/box
Low - Lowishmiles
Good service history
Not too bothered about colour (although one or two are borderline?)
A boot floor check or concern "done".

Excellent money paid for the right car (I know how much they are worth and will pay a fair price) - but no silly emails please, let's be sensible people!

Many thanks

Interesting, the E46 M3 dhc (manual) is a car I've been considering as a more family oriented car than the TVR (we can't all get into that).
Ideally Imola red or a blue but there never seems to be any up for sale within sensible travelling distance.

(The same with the R129 SL500 Merc which also a possibility until I accepted that the rear seats we no use for an 11 year old).
I think you just cannot ignore the "right" car....therefore you must travel?

If one comes up (from this post) - I personally would travel far and wide......

OP, if you're on Facebook, join the 'M3 mental' group, and it's sister 'for sale' group.

It's a lot better than it sounds. There are a few well cared for cars that come up for sale on there.
Thanks for that...not heard of that "group"!

Shouldn't say this on a BMW M3 Forum, but I'm concerned I just wouldn't see the M3 in the same light as the TVR.
There's a certain, difficult to describe, charisma with the TVR, I'm on my four and they get into your blood.
That said I had an E30 M3 Cecotto many years ago (should have kept it) so there's M series in me somewhere too.
Two completely different cars though. I have looked at several TVR Griff's - lovely, but they are a TVR.

I just think for me (at my age-tthe time in my life) an E46 M3 Convertible will prove to be better car? However if I had unlimited funds - yep I would have the two.

Just hoping a suitable M3 comes along???
