All,

I don’t want to ruin my car, but I do want to get a little more volume in the cabin from the engine as well as a more v8-like sound. A bit more life in it but not too loud / boomy for long journeys.

Has anyone on here upgraded their exhaust to achieve this ? thinking Eisenmann or Milltek but open to feedback. May limit myself to back boxes rather than going the whole hog, but again, happy to hear your thoughts….

The car is a leaser but the reality is I will chop it in rather than give it back at the end of the period so not too worried about that.

Looking forward to the views of all specifically on this point.

Thanks

Trev

Couple of points, firstly it's worth noting the car is considerably louder outside than you may expect. The car's well insulated which does mute the cabin noise, but externally the cars volume is certainly ample.
This.

My car is already (almost) embarrassingly loud when I leave for work early in the morning. This issue is the soundproofing in the car not the exhaust noise imho.
I was going to buy the E63S when i bought my M5. when i started it from cold, i couldn't hear the salesman who was leaning into the car - i thought - my neighbours will love that at 6:30 every day - and decided not to buy it.

The M5 is also noisy on start up but once warmed up, could do with a bit more atmosphere inside once underway - otherwise, its epic...

I saw a you tube video of a guy using a hose clamp for the same purpose. Might give that a try.

Any loss of boost pressure low down or engine management issues with the reduced back pressure ?

Might give this a try at the weekend if people have a view

Thanks
