I know what you mean regarding the lack of a 'Touring' model - I have owned an RS6 and whilst they are ballistic in a straight line, I always thought the handling was lacking 'feel'.
I can probably manage with a saloon - I have a mobility scooter which I use for shopping etc, and my new scooter will fit in the boot of the 5 series/E-class etc which my old one would not.
I might look at the Alpina B5 Touring though ?
