Hi all. Introduction - I’m Paul. I’m a recovering diesel addict. 12 years hooked to the heavy oil.

Recently I took the sensible 5 seat saloon in to Barons in Bedford for a rear bumper fix after Amazon delivery knobber did a hit & run, and mistakenly waited in the showroom while they detailed the inside & brought it round for me to drive home.

Sakir Orange M4 comp pack caught my eye, haunted my dreams for 2 weeks, and ends up on the drive next Wednesday after failing to talk myself out of it. Insurance increase of £38.15 for the remaining 6 months.

See you out and about.

Paul.

Nice!

What's going on with the shut line along the bonnet?
Bonnet wasn't shut. They'd had the conditioner connected to the battery and closed it with only one of the bonnet catches actually closing.

So 750 miles in, all between 1 and 69.9mph of course, and never, ever seeing how fast you can get to that speed on a straight bit of road, I've decided those Muppets in the BMW M design office, with their degrees and countless decades of experience, don't know anything about painting plastic bits, or how wide the front and rear track should be. Roll on first service, launch control and some tinkering at GAD tuning in January.

So, the following have occurred:

Painted engine cover trim bit to match the bodywork.
12mm front and 15mm rear wheel spacers, yet to be fitted.

Added the wheel spacers yesterday.

30mm wider at the back and 24 at the front:

So I'm 1300 miles in, and had the first service at 1219 miles.

First thing I noticed is that the engine seems to be a bit more loose, and a bit more aggressive in it's power delivery.

The launch control started to work after 1250 miles, but there is a discrepancy in the way mine operates, and may be linked to the fact mine is a 2017 competition package and things have changed since all the videos on YouTube were created.

When I activate my Launch Control, the engine revs sit at 3000, not 4000 ann I can't adjust the revs with the cruise control button as others can.

Anyone else notice this on later cars?
