Just saying hello in here, as anew owner of an X5M
Of course I know to all the purists, that's not an M....!

But I have to say - what a machine it is!
Its a 66 reg car - and I was dumbstruck by the power that it has - its just our family car, but it puts a big silly grin on my face from time to time.

Have owned M3's (many) , M5s and an M6 over the years - and am pleased to say - whether there is need for such a car or not, that the X5M works well for me. I have something more fun in the garage for weekends, but for day to day - what a great bit of kit.

Any other X5M owners around here?

Thanks guys - thats very useful. i am actually going to be driving to La Plagne France, for skiing early 2019 - had sort of thought that the X5 should cope - but given the wheel sizes, its no surprise. I had looked at chains etc - but would be very grateful for your input.

Is it best to get some 20" wheels and winter tyres?

If I may ask, how much did that set you back?

Cheers
Simon

even £3500 is a lot of money - am thinking snow chains for the alps, and going with the above yoko winter tyres on my 21's

Agree that very few people realise what they are capable of. Just prefer them to the Cayene and RR. I like the new Maserati Levante, but its lacking performance.

I bought a white one - not my normal colour choice, but actually really pleased with it (when it's clean!)
