In a moment of madness i sold my facelift Carbon Black / red November 2003 manual M3 last year. I now find that i am Really missing it 🙈.
Prices really seemed to have firmed up in the 18 odd months since selling it.
Been looking at CSLs as well, but i think they are vastly over priced for what they offer.

My car was a two owner, full history Dec 03 facelift, manual, sun roof ( which i hated ) Carbon black / black leather ( which i changed to red )
It was on 149,000 miles when i bought it in December 2012 and it was imaculate !! it came on 4 near new Conti M3s. The second owner had comuted from Kent to Hull, 5 days per week, hence the high miles. I paid £5,950 and got a years warranty, which paid for a new starter ( it broke down on Munich legends fore court 30 mins after i collected it, the starter motor had gone ) new front shocks and a rear lower arm bush ( which i got a pal to fit )
I sold it on 179,000 miles in circa June 17. It had a CSL rack ( which is the finest mod one can do to these awesome cars)
The front arches were bad, the rear Conti 3s almost bald, i had recently fitted two new Conti 6s on the front, the rear shocks were knackered ( i had intended to fit Konis all round ) a rear spring was broken and it needed a set of plugs. I maintained it well, never thrashed from cold, top quality oils, it drove superbly and i bet it hasnt lost any power either.
I ran it with no rear seats and the weight difference was Really noticeable.
I also drove it for a week with just the drivers seat and omg, again the difference was amazing! The oe seats are ludicrously heavy, like boat anchors.
I advertised it @ £5,950 on flea bay and had Lots of enquiries. The first guy to contact me ( a really nice guy ) bought it over the phone and paid me £6,000
I reckon i could have got £6,500 for it, but hey ho.
What i Dont miss is putting fuel in it though ??

Ive never driven an E92 M3. Did consider one, but reliabilty stories has put me right off, plus they are heavier.
I did have a quick “ dice “ against one in my E46 M3, i really thought that he would leave me for dead, but from circa 30 mph on, he was only very slighter quicker, so no point At All in me buying one.
Ive been looking for about 3 months now for one and E46 M3 prices are all over the place ATM and very few seem to be selling.

For me, the biggest bug bear re the E45 M3, was its weight! As soon as I bought it I stripped out the rear seats etc. This made a Huge difference and as for the OE front boat anchor seats !! I drove it for a few days with just the drivers OE seat in it and omg, the difference was incredible !
