E92 M3. Is EDC a must have?
Discussion
As per the title really. I'm looking at an M3 Comp as a daily/occasional track car, and found a 60k, 2010 example without EDC. There's also a 2011, 86k with EDC up for the same price. I'm swaying toward the lower mile one, as the only difference is the lack of EDC. As I've never had a car with adaptive dampers, am I going to miss/need them either on the road, or track?

To close this off. I pick up a genuine 2011 Comp pack (with EDC!) on Monday, providing my car sells Can not wait!
Congrats! Is the Meg making way for it?KPB1973 said:
It'll be interesting to hear how you get on longer term. As mentioned in the French Bred forum, I went the other way and then back again (with a couple of porkers between the meg and the m3's).
Both have their strengths and weaknesses but the engines are incomparable. The s65 is a lovely thing in combo with the DCT.
Does your new motor have any other upgrades? The exhaust mod is mandatory!
I think it already has it. It's also had some coding done too. Beep on lock, digi speedo and things like instant MPG, and DRL's on too which doesn't look to be standard. Both have their strengths and weaknesses but the engines are incomparable. The s65 is a lovely thing in combo with the DCT.

Hi Blanchimont,
I know it's been 2years since you were considering the 2010 non-EDC M3 Comp mentioned above, but I wonderered if you can remember any further details about that car. I'm investigating a potentially cloned vehicle and a non-EDC M3 Comp Pack is key to cracking this case. For reference, 13 early E92 M3 Comp Pack's came without EDC due to a mistake at the factory.
Questions it would be great if you can help with in any small way include;-
- Where abouts in the country was the car located when advertised?
- Was it exactly 60k miles at the time, or was it a little less / a little more?
- A long shot, I know, but if by chance you have any pictures of the car from your communications with the seller, particularly interior pictures or pictures of the service book that you'd be willing to share, that could be key to cracking this particular investigation
Many thanks in advance for any help you're able to offer.
PS: I would have PM'd, but as I've only just signed up to PH, am not allowed to send PM's, yet.

I’ve trawled through, and found a photo of the car I took at the time.
From memory it wasn’t exactly 60k, just below. Some like like 56/58k.
It was a performance dealer in north Bristol.
From memory it did have black leather, and had some exhaust work done, and I’m pretty sure it had a carbon lip on the back, but not 100%.
I do have a pic of it with the reg here:
Hope this helps!

That's super helpful, thank you so much. Yes, it is the car that's of interest in this investigation. Really appreciate you digging that outI’ve trawled through, and found a photo of the car I took at the time.

Do you have any more info on the background of it, what’s come about it?

That's mad. Also mad to think the car died not long after I went to look at it. Presumably the person who bought it stacked it. The picture you uploaded is of MCR Specialist cars.
