Hiya,

Could do with some help just to make sure I'm not going mad. I'm talking to a BMW dealer about an AUC F85 X5M and I've been sent the condition sheet.

According to realoem the rear discs are 24mm think when new, with a min of 22.4mm.

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part?id=KT62-EUR-...

The AUC sheet sent to me says rear min 30.4, act 31.2 which makes no sense. It also lists front min as 34.4 min, act 34.8 which is OK so I know that adds up.

I asked the sales guy but he could only say that he's not a tech so no idea...

They also reckon it came with runflats. I didn't think any M came with RFT?

Any ideas?

Thx

/C

i thought comfort key motion detect was only on Gxx cars? There was talk about a retro scheme for Fxx but no idea if it happened.

Update

The dealer has rechecked and has now said that "due to a typo it was recorded wrong". Rears are well within spec as they are currently on 23.4. Not sure how you can mis-type 23.4/22.4 as 31.2/30.4 but anyhow...

I also asked how come the pads all say 5.0mm yet the miles remaining for the fronts was 36,000 and rear was 9,000. Turns out the front pads were swapped out, even though this has not been recorded on the in-car service history. If they were all 5.0mm, why swap at all, and why only do one set?

Finally they've also said that they have remeasured the front discs and they are at 34.4mm (which is the min) and not the previously recorded 34.8mm, but as the pads don't need doing they don't need to do the discs so are trying to use it as a negotiation tactic. Spot the flaw in their logic here...

I've gone back with final offer/take it or leave it as i'm tired with all the pissing around.

so the dealer has come good and it's all systems go. Sometimes a face-to-face discussion is what's needed as doing it online/email/phone isn't optimal...
