Got a proactive sales call from BMW sales to look at getting me out of my current E71 X6 40D into something else. Loosely been looking at changing, but now am focusing the mind and have seen an F16 X6M which appeals. Specifically, this one:

https://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/202010235348470...

Does anyone have any ownership experience? My E71 has been brilliant and extremely reliable, no reason to change and if a deal doesn't come to fruition, will not be disappointed keeping hold of it.

Looking for real-world ownership experience, good / bad / ugly, things to look out for etc. YouTube reviews are extremely positive from what I've seen.

On the particular car I linked to, it's in the dealership network (Sytner Group), I did an online MOT check, all passed, however, an MOT was carried out in August 2020, then again, 13th November, then again 27th November. I've asked the sales person to find out why, but any ideas? All 3 MOTs shown as pass with no advisories, with only 1000 miles added between August and November.

Anything to look out for / advice / guidance gratefully received

Still waiting to hear back from the dealer regarding the multiple MOT's, but they've sent me a 5min video walk around and it's a stunning car. The pictures don't do it justice, it's been properly valeted and is in their showroom, under the lights, it looks great.

Definitely like it because of it's divisive looks, having said that though, I've had my current X6 for a few years and never had any negative vibes toward it (not that I'm aware of at least smile )

I think we're close on the numbers, if they can't get to where I need them to be, will push for an extra year's warranty. Let's see where this goes smile

Just had a call and some clarity around the MOT's. JMBMWm5 called it. Apparently Sytner's policy is the car leaves with a full years ticket. Two buyers pulled out due to not being able to secure finance but the car was put through a fresh MOT both times.

Anyway, deal is done. Happy with my PX figure and also secured a further deposit contribution, discount on the X6M and an extra year's warranty. Will update when I pick it up next weekend smile

Deal done. Car arrived at Sytner Maidenhead yesterday and I asked for a couple of specific videos. Went down to see it today, still needed prep but took it for a drive and wow. Just.... Wow. My first M car and what a weapon. I didn't realise what a difference the various steering / engine / suspension modes made, from docile to utter nutcase at a push of a button.

Finance all in place, it's going through the workshop with yet another MOT and pickup tomorrow. Can't wait!

Few pics from pickup yesterday. Need a proper familiarization and setup drive but so far, so amazing, what a joy to drive. I still need to play around with a lot of the settings, never been in a car with so many seat adjustments smile

A nice surprise in the document pack was the original order form. It was a BMW Manager / Demo car and had the following spec:

Base Price: £76,000
Electric glass sunroof: £912
Sun protection glass: £287.50
Surround View: £441.67
Park Assist: £475
Internet: £79.17
Online Entertainment: £158.33
Harmon Kardon: £425
Speed Limit Display: £208.33
21" M Spoke 612M wheels: £1583.33
Reversing Assist Camera: £312.50
Roof Rails High Gloss Shadow Line: £270.83
Comfort Access: £637.50
Soft Close Doors: £404.17
M Multi Function Seats: £1245.83

Doesn't say on the document if this includes VAT or not, but I genuinely thought the seats were a feature of all of the X5M and X6M cars, didn't know they were a cost option.

Some pics:

And I guess I better get used to this!

Will get some pics of the interior, but it's in perfect condition. I do want to give it a proper clean and polish, and just waiting for the V5 to come through and put my personal plate on it, then it will truly be mine smile The colour is a real head-turner, it's a little "out-there" for me, but it's so vivid. A nice surprise was opening the door in the evening and seeing the M puddle lamp. That's a nice touch.

I want to get the side grill wrapped in gloss black, apart from that, I think it's perfect

Just to add, the sales guy told me it has Park Assist, apparently it can park itself? Any idea how that works? Due to Covid, they obviously can't do the "sit with you for 20 mins going through everything" process
