I've just sold my e46 M3, didn't intend on selling but the guy I pay to store it rang and made me a good offer plus I'm getting fed up managing 3 classic cars with no garage.

So now I'm thinking if I sell the mini clubman s daily I could replace it with an M2. I was weighing up an OG M2 vs an M2 Comp, there seems to be around 10k difference in price between them for cars with similar mileage. I prefer the wheels on the older model but really don't like the front seats, I've read that you can easily fit the M4/M3 seats which are around £1200 on ebay so I was thinking

OG M2 + M3 seats + Litchfield Bilsteins (with corner balance and alignment) + Litchfield remap

That would be around £5k so half the outlay needed to move up to a comp and I think you'd end up with a pretty nice package, does this seem like a good way to spend my money or would I be best going for the comp?

Also anyone ferry largish dogs around in the back of these? I have a greyhound that needs to be comfortable for 3 hour drives at a time

I have to admit I have no experience with the N55 or S55, is there much difference between them such as rev limit or how quickly they rev? I kind of (perhaps wrongly) assumed adding a tubro to a straight 6 would give them similar characteristics and both would be lacking in some departments compared to the S54. From videos I've watched the N55 seems to sounds better.

The cheapest Comp is around £36.5k with c. 35k miles and the cheapest OG in good condition with same mileage is around £26.5k, 5k worth of upgrades would get you comp seats, comp power and suspension that would be seen as an upgrade over the comp. Also considering F80 M3s due to the dog but would rather an M2 if I can help it
