MX5 Running Rich
Discussion
The idle on my car has been very erratic recently, fluctuating from 1200rpm to almost stalling at times though it never does actually stall.
The engine management light came on today and after connecting it to a fault code reader it gave me error code P0172, Fuel rich too high bank 1.
Any ideas on what could be causing this?
Ok, just realised this is half a bloody post!
It's a 2002 UK Spec 1.8 Sport!

Had it looked at today and was told that the O2 sensor is on the way out, so will replace that. He recommended that I get a genuine Mazda one, £200 at mx5parts!
My exhaust is blowing a bit too so I need to get that checked out too as he thought that could be an issue depending on where the leak is.

I'm going to change my MAF sensor next to see if that will make a difference as the O2 sensor did diddly squat. The ECU light came on this morning again!
I've seen MAF sensor with different coding on their labels, are they specific to each model? Mine is FS1E. Does any other Mazda model share this MAF sensor?
