Which one should I keep?
Discussion
I have a mk3 2lt and a mk1 eunos s-ltd.
The eunos was bought last year as a project to sell on this spring but I've come to love it. It's a really nice example with no rust and it's one of the rare japanese limited editions so is appreciating.
I've owned the mk3 for 3 years and it's in excellent condition and has been utterly reliable in that time. It's quite a lot quicker than the eunos and way more refined with a few subtle modifications.
Unfortunately I can't keep both and one has to go but which one?

This is what I’m thinking. Another couple of years and the value of the s-ltd will probably overtake the mk3. Its not mint, but it wouldn’t take a lot to get it there.
It was the wife that encouraged me to get the mk1 but solely for the purpose of trying to make a few quid on it. I don’t think she would be to amused if I announced I was keeping the mk1 and selling the mk3 as its obviously depreciated in the time I’ve owned it.
I could try and convince her that it may be worth hanging onto it for a while longer as an investment or just deliberately overprice it so it doesn’t sell so then I get to keep both;)

I think I've cracked it. I mentioned values appreciating over the coming years and she said maybe hang onto it for a few years. I could keep both but I'm getting a bit bored with the mk3 so may sell that and reinvest some of the money into the s-ltd. I discovered it has a little rust on one side when I stuck a borescope in through the seatbelt towers when fitting a new roof at the weekend. Also could do with a complete new exhaust system and the drivers seat has seen better days.
I’m keeping both for now. I taxed the mk1 at the beginning of April and forgot just how much fun it was to drive despite it being unrefined and relatively slow. I don’t think I could part with it now so if one does end up going it will be the mk3.
I’m also convinced mk1 values are on the rise as I sold a v special over the weekend and made close on a 60% profit over what I paid for it 6 months ago.
