Hi all !

Last week I bought a new 2.0 Sport ND in soul red.
Coming from a 2001 NBFL 1.8 on Ohlins I'm really enjoying these first kms of run in, the car feels lighter, the gears shorter, gear leverage is better too.
Something is lost in steering feel but less than I was expecting.
It feels much more tail happy than the NB in its original form but also well planted when driving clean being careful to weight transfers, so not so sure the first thing needed is a set of Ohlins here too.

Downsides are some rattles in the cabin: left harness surround plastic, right side passenger vent (LHD car), the central part of the dash and something related to the wind stopper behind my head.
Also third and fourth gear whine a bit at around 3-4000 rpm.
The car was built in March '17 so it should have the second version of the gearbox with some parts changed.

As from title I'd like to upgrade the engine next spring after the first 3-4000 kms.
Would love that kit if the claimed gains are real...did someone go that way?
Is there some independent dyno chart of that kit fitted?
+45 hp seem a bit optimistic to me and my mechanic...

First idea was ordering a kit in DIY form but I could also decide to have a trip to Brackley next spring from Northern Italy driving trough the Alps, the Ring and spending some days in London (last part for the co-passenger!)

Thankyou for the replies

Here in Italy a well respected tuner gets 180 real hp with the equivalent of the "190" kit and mapping (stock car dyoned 160 hp before)...no CAI only a panel filter to be honest but I can't see 10 hp there

15 hp from a set of cams still seem quite a lot according to my previous K-series and Duratecs experiences...

Anyway I'm happy the 190 BBR kit feels significantly faster than stock; at your point I'd go on with the 200 kit as gearboxes seem to be too fragile for a turbo

Do your third and fourth gear whine a bit too?

I'm trying to stay under 4000 rpm these first 1000 km...it already feels nicely torquey there

Maybe I am of the "old school" but I prefer NA experience in general

200 real hp at 7000 rpm with a good torque at low-mid revs from direct injection would thick all my boxes : )

The whine of my gearbox is an almost Caterham one (but much quieter), only accelerating 3 to 4000 rpm, only 3rd 4th gear

How and how long did you run in your cars?

Thank you all for the answers...

I found a BBR 190 kit here too, the owner is very happy with power delivery, mpg and sound, but he said to have seen 160/176 bhp on the same dyno before/after the upgrade in a couple of days.
Similar results have bene optained by a well reputed tuner on several NDs with bis custom induction/exhaust/ecutek mods.
