Have just purchased a MK2.5 which I will be using on track days. It's the euphonic model so has the leather seats which look good but unfortunately make me sit to high (I'm 6ft1") so i'm looking at fitting a race style seat to get a lower seating position. What are people fitting? do I have to take into account and bulges in the transmission tunnel that'll reduce the seat options available to me. Don' really want to start hitting anything with a mallet to make the seat fit.

Buy a Mk3. biggrin
Been there, raced a mk3 in the Brscc Supercup championship and didn’t get on with it. The mk3 just doesn’t handle like the mk1 and 2 although it was quicker in a straight line

I have a 2.5 Sport. I'm 6.0 but tall in the body.

I have done a "foamectomy" on my seat. It's an easy and cheap option and IMHO perfect for occasional track days.

I have also taken out cross members and fitted race seats for the more serious but not my own car as its used on the road.

That’s an idea, assume you just remove the leather seat cover and shave off the foam to the desired level and then refit the seat cover (might be a bit baggy though)
