Locating an oil leak

I have a MK1 I've gradually been fettling and having fettled.

In the last few years it's had a swap from auto to manual, an interior swap out, and some welding work. I.e. it's been interfered with a bit.

It's developed a small oil leak, which I thought I'd fixed by installing a gravel drive. Last night I parked on the road and it's reminded me that the leak is still there.

It's not immediately apparent where the leak is coming from. Are there and 'usual suspects' when it comes to mk1s?

Thanks mrciarano, that's a great list. Had a peek at the engine bay and Def needs a clean up before attacking.
