Hey guys I know there is a big difference on power output on the 2.0 nd2, but looking at the 1.5 is it worth getting the nd2? If looking at a 2018 car how do you tell the difference?

Cheers. It’s a 1.5 I’m after, looking at 2018 registered ones but it seems difficult to tell if it’s nd1 or 2.

Good choice of car, whatever!

I have had a 2017 1.5 ND Arctic for the last 3 years on a lease and have absolutely loved it. So much so, when the lease ended, I sought out and bought a beautiful, low mileage 2018 1.5 ND Sport Nav, in Ceramic White.

Now, I intend to keep this for a very long time.

Quite frankly, I wasn't aware that there had been any change in the 1.5 power output and I suspect if there is one, it is very modest and not noticeable on the road.

Clearly the changes to the 2.0 ND are significant and has had an affect upon the car's behaviour but on the road, again the performance isn't too noticeable but it just feels far sweeter.

I have owned a 2.0 Caterham Vauxhall which I used for sprints, hillclimbs and track days and have driven a huge variety of performance cars over the years. The MX5 1.5 still gives me a great buzz and always raises a smile on my face as it is just such a joy to drive on UK B roads, with modern traffic constrictions.

The car is also perfectly happy to undertake longer journeys and we took the last 'Arctic' down through France and on to Southern Spain a few years back and suffered no ill effects whatsoever.

You won't be disappointed!
Super write up thanks!!
