Hi,

I bought an MX5 as a bit of a project but things are just on top of me at the moment so looks like it needs to go.

Currently it has no MOT and the only thing I know that is wrong with it is that the drivers window mechanism is broken (cable has snapped).

Is this an MOT failure?

I have bought a new roof to go on it but don't want to go to the hassle of fitting it if it is only going to fail anyway. It needs a paint job and a bit of TLC so is it really worth it or should I just flog it now or break it (seems a lot of hassle to me though).

how much you selling it for and where about you based?
Not sure hadn't really thought about it as I was intending on putting it through an MOT and seeing.

Looking at a few hundred pounds probably. But bear in mind it is quite rough (bits of surface rust although the sills seem solid, needs a paint job etc.)

Am based near Bath.

It's an H-reg 1.6 in white. Done 120k miles.
Good news about the window.

My plan was to put the new roof on, MOT it and sell for about £700 ish (although a bit rough looking has got to be worth that).
Would make an ideal track slag as well so have thought about that...
