What slim automatic for £2k-£2.5k?

Asking on behalf of a friend who has a Skagen currently and is looking to upgrade.

Max Bill, Nomos and possibly a speedy were my thoughts so far (not sure on speedy though - it's not slim but I think he'd like it).

If you're worried about import duty etc, cheaper models are available (and watches in Europe etc).

Appreciate the suggestion but it's not really a slim line watch, unless I'm missing something?
