I used to own a 16610 sub which I sold (massively regret) I want a new watch budget £2k what is the best price I will find a moonwatch for? I will always want a sub but cannot afford one now it was £2250 new in 2005 amazing how they have gone up. The moonwatch seems the next best option. Any cost ideas? Best I can find is swiss watch direct

Why dom, surely I can get it cheaper online? I also like the Tudor black bay? Would you get the moonwatch or the black bay? I am also hoping it holds its money

I simply asked people's advice on cheapest place to get the watch? Not for people to be arrogant not everybody has £1000s to spend willy nilly it's a big decision and I would like the best price or possibly a nearly new one I may have to up my budget looking at the reactions I have got. Sorry to anger people

After having the sub the Tudor or moonwatch will feel like a cheap replacement. But with kids etc I cannot afford a sub. The tudors seem a lot cheaper used pegalos £2k ish and black bays £1700 ish the moonwatch seems to hold value better. I will keep looking

Really like the black bay with the red bezel with stainless strap and leather strap any ideas on one of these best prices? I'd jump at one if I could get one for £1600-£1700

What do people see as the next best to the Sub at a lower price? Is the moonwatch the most popular and most likely to hold value better lets say if i decided to upgrade in 2-3 years?

Very solid watch, same colour black and silver and a good history, can you think of anything else, key thing is it holds value and max £2500-£2700 new after discount.

Thanks for the great advice. I suppose a old Rolex is never going to lose much and as you say I could customise it with a new strap etc. I will look at some. Had a look at don hacketts site just out of my range. What's people's thoughts on old air kings? Is the explorer a lot better?
